A year in Sursee: the arena felt too big for us

Rooms can be planned; the way they work cannot. A year on from the move to Sursee, it is clear which assumption we had to correct.

A year is a short time for a building and a long one for a team. In the video, our CEO Sandro looks back on both: on the summer of 2025, and on what has happened in these rooms since.

A year ago there were only cables and rubble here

In a bare shell it is hard to make out what will come of it. Bare walls, exposed pipes, dust — and with them the question you ask yourself at that moment: will this work? A floor plan on paper does not answer it.

The arena felt too big for us

Nowhere is that clearer than with the arena. On the first walk-through it seemed oversized: a lot of floor space for a room in which nobody has a fixed desk. Today it is the place where we talk things through, develop ideas, set up projects and show results. The assumption was wrong, and that is the better news.

People turn an office into a home

What really carries a room is not something you can furnish. You can tell whether a team likes coming into the office, and ours does. That is why in July 2025 we did not simply move into new rooms — we made a home for xappido. Thank you to everyone who helped build it, in the bare shell and ever since.

LEVEL UP – our opening party in Sursee

An office is only truly opened once guests have stood in it. More than a hundred did, and the evening told ten years of company history at the same time.
