A look at Future Day 2024 at xappido

Future Day 2024 was full of varied activities and gave the young guests a first introduction to the fascinating world of technology and programming.

Looked after by Lea and Riccardo

The school students were looked after by Lea, our experienced Future Day lead, and Riccardo, our apprentice, who introduced them to the basics of programming in a playful way. The two were on hand with help and advice, explained the key steps and answered plenty of questions about everyday life at xappido and about the IT industry.

In Riccardo, the group had someone who is still in training himself: his own path from the school desk into the IT industry is only a few years behind him.

Emo puts in a dance

Our robot Emo caused particular excitement, welcoming the school students warmly and visibly delighted by the visit – he even had a little dance with the participants!

Their first programming tasks

The school students were also able to solve their first programming tasks with us that day. For many it was a real highlight to get creative themselves and see at first hand how ideas can be turned into digital projects.

Everyone worked at the long table, side by side at their laptops. Anyone who got stuck did not have to wait long: Lea and Riccardo went from seat to seat and explained the next task until the penny dropped.

Pizza at lunchtime, stickers to take home

At lunchtime there was pizza together, which brought good spirits and fresh energy.

Another highlight was the xappido stickers, which everyone was allowed to take home as a keepsake. Stickers with cool slogans such as “#girlswhocode” and “CodeHero” went down particularly well!
